Geraldine Mason Taylor

Biographical Information: GERALDINE MASON TAYLOR, born 23rd August 1885 in Alabama, died 1st May 1986 (aged 100) at her home in Alexandria, Virginia. Lived at 501 North Washington Street, Alexandria, a house which (1992) belonged to her grandson Arthur Herbert Bryant II (see 1.1.3.5.2.4.1.6.1.2. and 1.1.3.5.4.2.1.6.1.2. below). She inherited, from her childless brothers William R. Purvis Taylor (see 1.1.3.5.2.4.1.5. above and 1.1.3.5.4.2.1.5. below) and John Sinclair Taylor (see 1.1.3.5.2.4.1.8. and 1.1.3.5.4.2.1.8. below), Purvis Grange, near Vicksburg, Mississippi, the property originally acquired (1858) by her grandfather William Purvis (see 1.1.3.5.2.4. above) and passed this to her son John Carlyle Herbert Bryant (see 1.1.3.5.2.4.1.6.1. and 1.1.3.5.4.2.1.6.1. below) during her lifetime. Married (11th December 1907 at 711 Prince Street, Alexandria) Arthur Herbert Bryant (born c.1880/81 in Alexandria, died 1952), son of John Carlyle Herbert Bryant (born 19th May 1843 in Alabama, married 17th June 1872, died 1911), Captain in the Confederate States Army in the American Civil War, and of Ruth Claggett of Lexington, Virginia, having three children:-
