Biographical Information: MARGARET PURVIS, born 6th January 1815 in Kinghorn Parish, Burntisland, Fife, Scotland. She is not mentioned in the wills of her brothers Burridge Purvis (see 1.1.3.7.1. above) and John Purvis (see 1.1.3.7.2. above) both of whom recognised their other sisters. Living (1834) at 3 St Bernard's Crescent, Stockbridge, Edinburgh, Scotland. Married (24th September 1834 in St Cuthberts Parish Church, Edinburgh) Henry Anderson (died 9th June 1860 at 4 St Colme Street, Edinburgh, the residence of his mother-in-law Mary Brown Purvis (Polly)), merchant in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, agent for the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers of London, England, uncle of James Eglinton Anderson Gwynne, who was the husband of Mary Earle Purvis (May) (his wife's 1st cousin once removed - see 1.1.3.5.2.12. above), son of Sir James Anderson of Burleigh Gardens, London, having no children.
