Biographical Information: JANE LENNOX BLACKIE, born c.1841 (before 1846) in Edinburgh, Scotland. Scholar, living (31st March 1851) aged 10 at 5 Malta Terrace, Edinburgh, and living (April 1861) unmarried at 36 Dublin Street, Edinburgh. Living (March 1866) in Great Britain when she appears designated as Jane H. L. Blackie and a petitioner in the court case in Warren County, Mississippi, against Thomas Purvis Bruce (see 1.1.3.1.1.6. above), executor of the will of her uncle John Purvis (see 1.1.3.7.2. above), cited (1867) as James Blackie (sic) “of full age” (so presumably born before 1846) and resident in London, England, when Thomas Purvis Bruce petitioned for final settlement of the executry, and living (October 1870) designated as Jane Blackie (so presumably as yet unmarried), in the court case in Warren County against Thomas Purvis Bruce (see 1.1.3.1.1.6. above) as executor of the will of her uncle John Purvis (see 1.1.3.7.2. above). Married (after April 1861 and probably after October 1870, probably in England as no record of her marriage in Scotland 1861-90) ….. Bradford, having children:-
