Biographical Information: ALEXANDER SPEIRS or SPEARS, born 21st December 1828 at Kinghorn, Fife, Scotland, baptised 16th February 1829 at Kinghorn, died ? c.1871. Living in 1866 when he participated as one of the heirs in a suit against Thomas Purvis Bruce (see 1.1.3.1.1.6. above), executor of the estate of his uncle John Purvis (see 1.1.3.7.2. above). In 1867, when the executry was petitioned for final settlement, his residence was Liverpool, Lancashire, England, where he was cited as "of full age" (he would have been about 38 years old). He was still living (October 1870) as "only surviving child of Mary Spears" (sic) when this case finally came to judgement.
