Biographical Information: MARY PURVIS, born c.1804. Was present, as yet unmarried, at the wedding (29th January 1822 at Burntisland, Fife, Scotland) of William Thomson and Janet or Jessie Campbell (see OA.1132 – 1.15.3.) (sister of Isabella Campbell (wife of Alexander Purvis (see 1.1.3.6. above)). Living (April 1850) in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, when mentioned in the will of her brother John Purvis (see 1.1.3.7.2. above) as Mrs Mary Spears (sic). Married (23rd July 1822 at Kinghorn, Fife) Alexander Speirs (born/baptised 15th May 1798 in Auchtertool, Fife, died 11th February 1831, buried in Kinghorn Churchyard, Kinghorn, where he shares a gravestone with Alexander Purvis (born 1812, died 1819) (see 1.1.3.7.7. below)) of Grange, Burntisland, son of Henry Speirs and Isobel Davidson, having three sons:-
