Biographical Information: ALLAN CHARLES PURVIS, born 1st February 1940 at the Memorial Cottage Hospital, St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. Retired (1995) airline captain, pilot (from 1965) successively with British United Airways, British Caledonian Airways and finally on long range Boeing 747 aircraft with British Airways, based at Blackpool Airport, Lancashire, England, at Gatwick Airport, Surrey, England, and Heathrow Airport, Middlesex, England. Succeeded (1987) his father to Lathockar and Wester Gilmerton estate, near St Andrews, Fife, and sold it in five lots (2008). Living (1996) at Shortlands, Sutton, near Pulborough, West Sussex, England, and (2011) at Wootton Courtenay, Minehead, Somerset, England. Married (14th March 1970 at the Parish Church of St John Evangelist, Churt, Surrey) Elizabeth Jane Mitchel Olsworth (born 28th May 1943 in New York City, New York), air stewardess, English tutor and swimming instructor, only daughter of Mathew Bernard Olsworth (formerly Olszewski) (born 3rd January 1908 in Jersey City, New Jersey, died 1997) of Pixie Cottage, Churt, Surrey, England, and previously of New York City, whose parents came from Plock, Poland, and Florence Eileen Rusden (Eileen) (born 15th February 1904 in Falmouth, Cornwall, England, died 2nd April 1971 at Sunnyfield, Berkshire, England), having two children:-
