Biographical Information: ALICE PURVIS, born 11th March 1856 at Kinaldy, Cameron Parish, St Andrews, Fife, Scotland, died 23rd February 1857 in St Andrews, of scarlet fever - the same epidemic from which her elder sister Isabella Purvis (see 1.1.3.6.1.1. above) had died a week earlier. [Note: When Isabella contracted scarlet fever, the other two children were dispersed, Alexander Burridge to Edinburgh and Alice to St Andrews, but only Alexander Burridge escaped infection].
