In his will he left Ettrick Tower to the Anglican Order of Benedictines of Nashdom Abbey, Burnham, Buckinghamshire, England. Unmarried. 1.1.3.1.1.4.3.2. ? and others ? (no births were registered in St Andrews or Newington/Morningside districts of Edinburgh 1894 - 1903, so probably there were no further children).
