Biographical Information: HELEN ADAM, born c.1849 at Edinburgh, Scotland, died 14th March 1936 at 21 Braid Avenue, Edinburgh (aged 87), commemorated on a monument in Old Warriston Cemetery, Edinburgh. Living (8th April 1861 per census) aged 12 with her parents at 14 Dundas Street, Edinburgh, but not in 1871 (per census). Witness at the marriage of her sister Ann Purvis Bruce Adam (see 1.1.3.1.1.4.1. above) in 1879. Living (April 1891 per census) at 26 Scotland Street, Edinburgh, with her aunt Eliza Russell Bruce (see 1.1.3.1.1.5. below), under whose will she was a beneficiary for £10. She kept house at 25 East Claremont Street, Edinburgh, for her brother-in-law James McIntosh until his death (1918) and after the death (1882) of his wife and her sister Ann Purvis Bruce Adam (see 1.1.3.1.1.4.1. above). Unmarried.
