Biographical Information: ROBERT BRUCE, born 7th January 1889 at Park Avenue, Levenshulme, Manchester, England, died 10th March 1970 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. Emigrated (1911) to Brooklyn, ahead of his family, who followed three years later (c.1914). Fire insurance adjuster. Married (October/December 1911 at Chorlton, Lancashire, England) Hilda Hewitt (born 4th June 1890 in South Manchester, Manchester, died 16th March 1981 in Nyack, New York), daughter of Charles Earnest Hewitt and Beatrice Mary Ward (born c.1868) (in whose parents' home Robert Bruce's father Andrew Reid Bruce (see 1.1.3.1.1.3.3 above) was a boarder c.1881, when Beatrice was aged 13, and probably therefore the reason Robert Bruce and Hilda Hewitt met and married), having four children:-
