Married (3rd July 1981 in Liberton Kirk, Edinburgh, Scotland) Ellen Margaret Dobbie (born 6th January 1947 in Stirling, Stirlingshire, Scotland) of Liberton, Edinburgh, formerly Personal Assistant to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Scotland, having two daughters:-
